Random Pieces of Information You Probably Didn't Know

  •  In Toy Story 2, when Jessie yelled “Sweet mother of Abraham Lincoln”, it references the fact that Tom Hanks is actually distantly related to Ms. Nancy Lincoln (Maiden name, Hanks). 

  • The time when Patrick couldn’t place if SpongeBob was a boy or a girl in a magazine’s friendship quiz was actually correct. Sea sponges are hermaphrodites. (Which means they have both male and female reproductive parts).

  • The hooting owl sound you hear on TV to accent an eerie atmosphere may actually be a mourning dove. It’s an easy mistake. Real owls actually make various different sounds and some even come out during the day or at twilight.

  •  Tomato juice does NOT actually remove the smell of a skunk. If you try it, you’ll just end up smelling like skunk spray and tomatoes. 

  • There is no solid evidence that Walt Disney was an antisemite. A lot of the racist stuff you see in older media was made in the 1930s-1970s. Back then, people didn't really care about offending people and could get away with things that would never be allowed today. Seriously, they used to air commercials with doctors actually promoting cigarette use.

Book Hangover Thoughts: The Forgotten Family

An open letter to: Meryl Matthews because she really made me think.  In your story, The  For gotten Family, a wealthy couple with fertility problems during the late 1800s did what many people in that situation typically do. They decided to adopt. In this case, a two-year-old girl from the slums. ( Fun Fact , that was what poorer neighborhoods were referred to at the time). Now, I know that the Bonners actually had a decent reason to give up their youngest. Not just because she was an unplanned pregnancy, which she likely was, since with Mr. Bonner having lost his job and being in dire need of an increase in their finances, another baby was the last thing needed. Calm Down, People. RE: Bluey

Apparently, a bunch of helicopter parents got upset over yet another tiny thing. In the episode of Bluey titled The Sign, when Bluey’s mother, Chili, brings Bluey, her five-year-old sister, Bingo, and their two cousins, four-year-old Muffin and two-year-old Socks with her in the family car, because there’s only room in the backseat for three, as the oldest, Bluey is allowed to ride in the front seat for the first time in her life. Which she was thrilled about.  I don’t blame you, Bluey. I remember my first time in the front. It was pretty exciting. Especially when you’re the oldest so you get to do it before your siblings.
