I’ve noticed that Batman’s villains are at least given a realistic sentence for people who clearly have psychotic issues. A long stay in a mental hospital. I guess it’s nice to know they’re being taken care of, although I don’t think Catwoman entirely deserves a prison sentence. Selina Kyle is basically an overzealous animal advocate. Most of what she does is to help the less fortunate, since she was one of them in her early teens and wants to give back, which I fully agree with and support.  I honestly don’t get why anyone would want to raise kids in Gotham, it’s too scary!  N o wonder Commissioner Gordon is so determined to keep the city safe. True, Gotham needs a police commissioner, but someone else needs him more. His daughter, Barbara AKA Batgirl and later Oracle, needs her father. They rarely mention his wife, so I’m guessing his daughter is probably all he’s got in terms of family. See what I mean? It must run in the family. Even though the Commissioner is clearly...

Question

Image
Sorry for my long absence. I've been busy.  This time, however, I have a question. Not for anybody in particular, just for whoever reads this, I guess.  Last Wednesday was Rosa Parks' birthday, and it gave me an interesting thought.  If it’s already been proven by pretty much every war ever fought that all people deserve the same basic rights, why did it take so long to grant, let alone accept them?  Rosa Parks  The entire reason we have wars is because people can’t find a way to agree, yet we still do it.   Look at this picture. I see nothing wrong with it. It’s just a group of kids having fun.    Seriously, Rosa went to jail because someone didn’t want to sit next to someone different from them. That doesn’t even make sense. If you want further proof of the damage these mindsets cause, you can actually ask Ruby Bridges, the little girl on the far left in the picture, if the death threats shouted at her when she was five, which led to fear...

APOLOGY

Sorry it’s been a while since my last post, I got a little caught up with the holiday season. Working at a candy store in Salem MA in October was crazy, then in November, we drove four hours both ways to New York to see Mom’s side of the family for Thanksgiving, my birthday happened, if you’re wondering, I turned 25, then Christmas season came. They have WAY too many retail categories for basically everything. Seriously, I didn’t even know there were more than two types of compression socks. What’s the difference? They’re fabric that covers your feet.  On the bright side, I checked a few Toys For Tots donation boxes, I just like to make sure those kids are getting something good, not those toys that fall apart the second they come out of the box, and a lot of kids are hopefully very happy this year.  I hate it when people agree to help someone, then do the bare minimum or add a bunch of loopholes in their favor because it’s easier for them. That’s not philanthropy, th...

Story Hangover Thoughts: Sister, Sister

In the 90s sitcom series Sister, Sister , I would like to point out that whoever made the decision to place them for adoption after their birth mother died from childbirth complications rather than attempting to locate relatives, along with the adoption agency used need to work on their ethical skills.   The court is supposed to consider the best interests of the children involved before the decision is made, and clearly, they didn't do that. How is it in the best interest of newborn identical twins to be separated before they even establish a relationship? Placing siblings, especially twins, in separate homes is actually generally frowned upon as the benefits of keeping them together massively outweigh the drawbacks.   Research has shown that the negative outcomes can include,  Increased risk for mental health problems : Separation can lead to issues such as anxiety and depression .  1 Loneliness and stress : Siblings may experience feelings of isol...

Philosophy on Foster Care Issues and Why I Care

https://chng.it/2zZ2HWhptQ Helping someone doesn't mean you can add a bunch of loopholes and conditions just because it makes it easier for  you . You have to look through their perspective. If you agree to foster children, you can't only take the younger ones because they're cute or the older because they're less needy or split them by gender just because it's more convenient.  Think about it from their perspective, these kids have probably been through a horrible trauma, and now they're forced to separate from the only family they have left because of their gender or because it's too much work to have different aged kids under one roof? That doesn't even make sense. Older kids can help with their younger siblings, which actually creates  less   work for their guardians. It's that exact issue that makes kids afraid to ask for help. Especially the older ones. They're afraid they'll get lost in the system and never see each other again. Bes...
