Philosophy on Foster Care Issues and Why I Care

https://chng.it/2zZ2HWhptQ Helping someone doesn't mean you can add a bunch of loopholes and conditions just because it makes it easier for  you . You have to look through their perspective. If you agree to foster children, you can't only take the younger ones because they're cute or the older because they're less needy or split them by gender just because it's more convenient.  Think about it from their perspective, these kids have probably been through a horrible trauma, and now they're forced to separate from the only family they have left because of their gender or because it's too much work to have different aged kids under one roof? That doesn't even make sense. Older kids can help with their younger siblings, which actually creates  less   work for their guardians. It's that exact issue that makes kids afraid to ask for help. Especially the older ones. They're afraid they'll get lost in the system and never see each other again. Bes...

Story Hangover Thoughts: Times Ned Flanders Broke The Law

Image
An open letter to: Ned Flanders,  Even you, Mr. "Perfect Christian" have messed up several times in your crusade towards your faith.  * The time when you and your wife were granted custody of the Simpson children after a series of misunderstandings involving Bart getting headlice and Lisa's shoes being stolen by bullies, got Homer and Marge in trouble with Child Services, you tried to baptize the three after Lisa revealed none of them had been.  FUN FACT:   Foster parents can't legally do that without consent from the birth parents.   So, you're probably going to lose your license.  *  You forced Springfield Elementary to teach Creationism in place of Evolution because you personally didn't agree with it, and almost got Lisa arrested for voicing her opinion, and as a substitute teacher, led the fourth graders in prayer. Church and State are separated, and as such, you legally cannot force a public school to obey religion. Besides, ...

Little Known Facts That Might ACTUALLY Come In Handy

  * People who separate siblings in foster care are violating the children's rights according to the Youth Law Center,   FACT-SHEET_-Rights-of-Foster-Children-to-Contact-Relatives-and-Friends-9.14.23.pdf   AND   The Fostering Connections to Success and Increasing Adoptions Act of 2008 .  * In British English, a slang term for smoking a cigarette means something very different in America.   * Yes, you have to wear a seatbelt in the backseat of a car. (That means you, Grandma). * Never try washing gum out of your hair in the shower with shampoo. It just makes the gum melt further in and that makes things worse. * Honey never spoils. They've found perfectly edible honey in Egyptian tombs. * You're not supposed to call it "Asperger Syndrome" anymore. They found out that Asperger had ties to the Nazis. It's now called "High-Functioning Autism". * Letting kids get away with bad behavior on the grounds that they "don't know any better" doe...

Story Hangovers: Atypical Love

Image
If you have issues with this particular lifestyle, before you freak out at me for my viewpoint, at least hear me out!  Why   does the world have so many stipulations about love and happiness? You can't control your brain chemistry or your heart!  The whole point of including same-sex couples in family shows is to promote acceptance and representation. The media isn’t trying to recruit children for a homosexual army or whatever the theory is now, they just want to encourage acceptance of people who are different.   We have people whining about an alleged “gay agenda” which is just plain not true. In fact, FUN FACT : did you know that the English word “ homosexual ” wasn’t even in the Bible until 1946? It’s actually used as a mistranslation of the word “ arsenokoitai ” which refers to assault and harassment. You can look that word up as evidence. It’s a documented historical fact that sexual orientation and identity weren’t even a thought when the Bib...

Story Hangover Thoughts: Ever After High VS Descendants

Image
Have you ever noticed that after someone comes up with an original idea, ten minutes later, they have a million copycats?  Take Ever After High and Disney’s Descendants for example. Ever After came first and was at the peak of its fame when Disney decided that they wanted a piece of the action. So, what do they do? They change a few things like the names of the characters and a few pieces of plot line and claim it’s their idea.  Let’s see; children of fairy tales? Check. Attending a boarding school where everyone thinks they’ll be just like their parents, especially the villains? Check. Main characters including children of Sleeping Beauty, Mad Hatter, and Evil Queen? Check.  I don’t know how this didn’t get Disney Channel sued by Mattel. It only got so popular because they used popular teen actors and were basically riding the coattails of Ever After High and Kenny Ortega’s reputation from High School Musical.  And of course, since Disney Channel “Origina...
