You basically forced your son and daughter-in-law to let your take your youngest granddaughter to boarding school even though you knew full well that they didn’t want to separate their family and that an adventurous tomboy like Eliza would find attending an upper-class British boarding school tortuous. Grounding her to the Comvee, (the family's mobile home) for a month would’ve been more effective. At least you realized your error when Eliza ran away from the school after one day and hitched a ride back to her family. This being the 1990s, it was actually a lot easier for an unaccompanied minor and a chimpanzee who imprinted on the family and just never left, it's a long story, to get aboard an international flight than it would be now.
